Meet Eyton Shalom, M.S., L.Ac

Eyton Shalom, M.S., L.Ac specializes in the treatment of Pain with Dry Needling, Acupuncture, Cupping, Electrical Stimulation, “Scraping” (Gua Sha), and the art of Moxibustion.

 

He is also an expert at the use of Chinese Herbs and Ayurveda for the treatment of Internal Disorders.

 

From Yoga and Meditation to Acupuncture and Dry Needling

 

Eyton was introduced to the natural healing arts in 1972 with an intensive study of Kriya Yoga and Meditation.

Over the next twelve years (including 3 years in India and Sri Lanka), Eyton devoted his life to the study of Yoga, Meditation, Nutrition, and Ayurveda Medicine.

It was in 1984 that Eyton began his study of Chinese Medicine with Dr. Anton Jayasuria, M.D.  He completed an introductory course at the Acupuncture Wing of the General Hospital in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

 

Pre-Med Studies to Acupuncture/Chinese Medicine School

 

After returning to the USA, Eyton Shalom began pre-med studies at Loyola University in Chicago, Il. One year later he transferred to University of California, San Diego. He graduated from UCSD, Magna Cum Laude, in 1988.

Eyton Shalom completed four years of study at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine, San Diego, in 1992. He was licensed to practice AcupunctureChinese Herbal Medicine by the State of California the same year.

 

Discovering Dry Needling for Trigger Point Pain

 

It was in 1991 that Eyton discovered Dry Needling.and Trigger Point therapy, thru the work of Janet Travel, M.D.

He had the good fortune to receive Trigger point therapy over the next two years from several gifted health care professionals. This was part of curing his migraine like tension headaches, and serious low back pain.
